[Spoiler Free]: Review of the ‘Folk of the Air’ Trilogy by Holly Black

Genre: Young Adult Fantasy

Rating: ā˜…ā˜…ā˜….5

Tropes: Enemies to Lovers, Strong Female Main Character

Iā€™m reviewing these as a whole since they were short and not so sweet (pretty dark sometimes, actually) and each led into the next book.  These novels are about Jude, who is a teenage girl battling for her survival in Faerieland alongside her human sister Taryn and her faerie sister Vivi.  The author does a great job drawing the reader into the magic and danger of Faerie.  I felt as if I was fighting with Jude and Cardan, The Cruel Prince, and later the Wicked King, with her.   I suspected betrayals at every turn of the story, and yet the author continued to surprise me and kept me turning pages even into the next book of the series. I rate this trilogy at a 3.5/5 stars overall, and a 2/5 stars on the spice šŸŒ¶ļø  meter.  This is because of some small plot holes and that the author left on such huge cliff hangers in both the first and second books.
